MASAL VADAI

Ingredients:

Bengal gram---2cups

Greenchillies---1-2

Ginger----a piece

Onion chopped---1-1/2cup

Curry leaves-few

Aniseeds-few Salt---as per taste

Garlic(optional)-2-3flakes



Method:



Soak gram for 2hours,then grind coarsely in mixie.Keep aside.


Now grind greenchillies,ginger,Garlic,Aniseeds and mix with mixture.


Then add curry leaves,onion,salt and mix well.


Heat the pan meantime and start making the mixture into round ball and press as flat with palm.


Onceyour complete this,fry the vadai till golden brown and drop on tissue paper(to absorb extra oil)


This goes well as snacks with tea or even with sambhar rice,lemon rice....

This is very easy receipe,you can prepare with left out thing in your kitchen....

Kids will surely like it,you can prepare it for evening tiffin also.

TIP BIT IDLY


Ingredients:

Idlies-4-5
onion-1cup
channa dhal-2tsp
tumeric-3/4tsp
chillipowder-2tsp(small)
ghee-1/2tsp
Salt-for taste


For Seasoning:
oil-2tsp
Mustard-few
curry leaves-5-6

Method:

First season mustard in oil and add curry leaves and channadhal,fry for some while.

Cut onion in lengthwise and fry them in oil nicely

Cut Idlies in square bits and keep aside

Now add tumeric,chilli powder and Idly bits.

In low slim flame,start stiring it well,till all ingredients get mix together.

Finally add ghee and stir once,off the flame...

Serve Hot.Instead of having ususal idly, having idly in different way will be surely interesting...

Moreover it can be done with left out idly.

As we usually prepare normal shape murukku,i thought let me try in different shapes with maida.

ROUND MAIDA MURUKKU

Ingredients:

Maida-4Cups
Urad dhal -1Cup
Ajwan seeds-1tsp
Ani seeda-1tsp
Chilli powder-2tsp(small)
Salt as taste
Butter-2tsp

Method:

First steam maida without mixing water in pressure cooker for 2 whistle.

Then fry urad dhal in pan without oil, then powder it .

Mix both flour,then add remaining ingredients

Nicely mix it well,slowly add water try to get it in dough form.(it should n't be very loose or tight.

Meanwhile heat vegetable oil in pan,take little dough,try to make into straightline and join both edges.

After completing this,fry till golden brown and take away from pan.

Store for somewhile on kitchen towel,so that oil get absorbed,then store in air tight container.

Hi friends....

This is my first post.I prepared this for My Sweet Husband on his birthday..

CARROT AND MIXED NUT CAKE

INGREDIENTS :

Betty Crocker Carrot Cake Mix or any other company ---1packet
Eggs ---3
Vegetable oil ---1/3cup
Water ---1Cup
Walnut,cashew and raisins ---1Cup

Method:

First mix all ingredients except nuts,meanwhile preheat the oven to350degrees.

Now beat the mix nicely for 2minutes in mixie,grease the pan,spread few nuts on the pan.

Then spread a thin layer of mix, again spread the nuts and repeat with mix...

Now bake the cake for 30minutes.

For Decoration:

Cashewbits few

Cloves

FruitJam(mix 1tsp of jam with few drops of water and heat in micro wave for 20-25seconds)

As i felt froasting is over calories,just thought let me decorate with whatever available at home.
