SWEET AND SAVORY FOR KRISHNA JAYANTHI

This is my contribution to Viji's Tamil festival cuisine.

(THIS IS GLASS PAINTING DID BY MYSELF BEFORE MY WEDDING.ACTUALLY IT WAS DONE JUST BY OBSERVING T.V SHOW,I DIDN'T GO TO ANY CLASS&SWEET GIFT FOR MY MOM)

Sri Krishna Jayanti marks the celebration of the birth of Bhagavan Sri Krishna. Lord Sri Krishna was born on the 'Rohini' nakshatram (star) on Ashtami day. The festival Sri Krishna Jayanti is also known as Gokulashtami and Janmashtam. The actual day of celebration can be on two different days as the star 'Rohini' and Ashtami may not be on the same day. This occurs between August and September

first time to your blog..looks nice..hey i liked the omapodi maker.. is it really simple making with that? i have never made omapodi etc..because i do not want to use the conventional and time consuming methods..this looks good.. should try if its is really good

Nandhini said...

mmm..muruku is my favourite snack !
For a long time i was searching for the muruku press in Indian stores..but finally I found Maruti Kitchen Press, on this web site http://www.perfectpeninsula.com

You need a right tool to make muruku. The job was done like a breeze, just with one hand ! It was so easy to press.
When compared to the conventional tool made out of wood or aluminium - you need two hand and have to press very hard and it becomes very difficult to make when the oil is hot :(

It also came with a Recipe book with lots of unique snack varieties ! For more info, go to http://www.perfectpeninsula.com/KitchenPress.html

I hope this would be more useful link, for bloggers who are looking for to buy one !
