RAVA PONGAL & ROASTED BENGAL GRAM CHUTNEY

It is really a perfect for evening light Tiffin (break-fast).... again very easy to prepare.

INGREDIENTS:

Fine Rava - 1 cup

Moong dhal - 1/4 cup

Jeera& Pepper coarsely powdered -1tsp

Fried Cashew-few

Ginger -1/4inch

Curry leaves - few

Hing - a pinch

Ghee+oil- 3tsp

Water - 1 and half cup(if you need later add another 1/2 cup)

Salt - As per taste

METHOD:

Roast the rava, keep aside.

Roast dhal in dry pan and soak for 30minutes. Boil the dhal for 1 whistle and strain the water.Let it cool(roasting the dhal will enhance the flavour...my personal experience).

Temper the coarsely powdered Jeera&Pepper ,Curry leaves, Ginger,Hing, finally the roasted rava.

Now add hot water, boiled dhal&salt..

Mix well, as such no lumps are formed & close the pan.

Don't wait for whistle, simmer the gas & off the sove after 8mts.

Finally add little ghee and fried cashew...Serve hot...
